What photographs to make to best showcase the artwork?

As a rule, artworks that have a few additional images are sold better.

We recommend adding the following additional images of the artwork:
  • a close-up of individual elements of the piece so that the buyer can see the details;
  • features of the technique of applying the material;
  • signature of the author;
  • a view from several angles, for example, from the back of the picture, where the subframe and the back of the canvas are visible; or other angles if it’s a sculpture.
Use images that accurately capture the colour and detail of the artwork, with good even lighting and balanced contrast between light and dark areas. Avoid flare, highlights or reflections.
