Oil on very high quality linen canvas. The painting was done with a very massive impasto in a way quite different from the theme and aesthetics of the painting itself . But that's what I was interested initially. When impasto is applied constantly to follow the brushstroke and shapes it really seems to me too simple sometimes and I can say boring. So in this painting and couple of others I tried a to do the opposite. Great Pyramids of Giza built during a time when Egypt was one of the richest and most powerful civilizations in the world, the pyramids especially the Great Pyramids of Giza are some of the most magnificent man-made structures in history.
