"Little Bird"- Petit Oiseau in French. The influences of living in Africa come through the pattern and details of this piece. Claire made a transition into this new period in 2013, whereby she began expanding her portraitures and exploration of color and defined, detailed patterns.Her strokes and layering techniques are also extremely visible. Strong styles of fauvism and impressionism and apparent in all her works of this period. Having lived in Africa for 20 years now, her pieces always make reference to or hold strong African imagery and details such as her detailed patterns, colors and emotive concepts.
