I was inspired by Shakespeare's quote, «Uneasy is the head that wears a crown», from Henry IV, or «Heavy is the head the wears the crown». This work is about power and responsibility, about how everything is temporary. The crown is represented as an extension of the head, it seems to grow into the head, as well as the crown becomes a crown of thorns, which emphasizes the burden of power, the more power the more responsibility. The crown is shown in a process of destruction, symbolizing that nothing is everlasting. Material: heavy cardboard, gilding (metal alloy, imitation of gold leaf), acrylic, oil, ink, watercolor, protective varnish mixed media the surface of the painting is glossy
