Walaa Abu Hamam is a Palestinian artist born and raised in the city of Acre year 1988. she grew up in the crowded buildings and small Alleys of the old city, surrounded by the sea. As a little girl, her parents could not overlook her talent every time she draw. A talent that was nurtured and fed with her curiosity and supported by the family. As the years passed, Abu Hamam found a new passion that helped her express thoughts, feelings and ideas in a magical way needless for words. She became more related to her soul and so the urge to become an art as sponge grew stronger. In her earliest works, she began to concentrate on subjects that affected women of the Arab society, and decided to start her career at the year 2011 throughout her first gallery "Revolutionize" an exhibition against sexual assault and abuse. Abu Hamam tried to give us a closer look to the cruel, savage and inhumane acts women get exposed to as a result of sexual abuse. capturing bold and harsh soul catching using only her body and soul to work with. In year 2014 Abu Hamam published her second exhibition Prohibited, the Prohibited details in the woman body in her culture. Currently, Abu Hamam working on new project A book about the story of mankind from the begging until the present time. Body and soul, spirit and mind, religions and spirals. The book weaves a net and emphasizes the relations between the different aspects of life. All transcends through words, images, drawing and other mix media.
