Description of the Artwork “Moai”
Moai is the name given to the huge statues of solid stone found on Easter Island. The male figures are called "Moai Kavakava" and the female figures are called "Moai Pæpæ". Moai are sometimes used in fertility celebrations, but often in festive celebrations. The first collected items would pile up around them.
