Self-portrait with bees

This is a self-portrait done in a unique way. Growing up, I always had to deal with yellow-jacket bees on my grandparent's farm and I wanted to depict the moment of anticipation just before they would retaliate for my attacking their hive. I wanted to paint it in early morning light and this is one of many in my more realist and darker style of painting.
