About the artist

NEO-EXCUBISM MANIFESTO Konstantin Gallari I. We no longer depict the human being as the eye sees them The human of the 21st century exists simultaneously in multiple spaces. They inhabit the physical world but live in the digital one. They remember the past, anticipate the future, and experience the present all at once. They show one face to the world while harboring another within. Therefore, a realistic depiction of the human being is no longer sufficient. Neo-excubism does not depict outward appearance—it constructs the inner architecture of the human being. II. Form becomes emotion In Neo-excubism, geometry is not a decorative device. A line can be fear. A fracture—a memory. A void—loneliness. The intersection of planes—an internal conflict. Facial distortion—a clash between who a person is and who they wish to appear to be. We do not ask: "What does the person look like?" We ask: "What does their inner world look like?" III. We inherit from Cubism but do not repeat it Cubism shattered conventional perspective and revealed an object from multiple viewpoints simultaneously. Neo-excubism takes the next step. We attempt to reveal multiple states of consciousness simultaneously. While Cubism broke down an object into geometric planes, Neo-excubism breaks down human experience. An object may have several sides. A human being—several realities. IV. We embrace contradiction A single work may simultaneously contain: love and fear; beauty and destruction; loneliness and the desire for intimacy; memory and oblivion; the human being and their digital shadow. We are under no obligation to resolve contradiction. Contradiction is the raw material of art. V. Color does not describe—it conveys experience Color need not be bound by the dictates of reality. Red may signify not an object, but anxiety. Blue—not the sky, but distance. Black—not the absence of light, but the presence of the unknown. White—not purity, but emptiness. In Neo-Excubism, color serves as an independent vehicle for psychological information. VI. The destruction of form becomes the creation of new form We intentionally allow for deformation. Yet deformation is not chaos. Beneath it lies a structure. Every destroyed form must forge a new connection. Every fragment must serve a function. Every rupture must lead to a new whole. We do not destroy reality; we reassemble it. VII. The human being is the primary landscape A city can be depicted. A landscape can be depicted. Architecture can be depicted. Yet the human being remains the most complex space of all. Thus, Neo-Excubism addresses: solitude; fear; love; guilt; memory; alienation; conflict; desire; hope; death; freedom; the search for meaning. This is not a catalog of emotions. It is a map of human existence. VIII. The digital and the physical are not enemies Art is no longer compelled to choose between the digital and the material. The digital environment has transformed how we perceive images.
