To me, it represents love and trust in the broadest sense. A man's figure symbolizes love, love for a partner (even though the partner is not visible), and trust in the world. The man in the painting fells good and relaxed, he reaches for something desirable, which inspired the title of the artwork. The painting is created using oil paints and golden foil. The golden foil representing light and energy, and also emphasizes the topic of sexuality, which is also a cornerstone. The edges of the gold foil are intentionally uneven, as the artwork aims to depict a wonderful reality rather than an unattainable ideal. The appearance of the painting varies depending on the lighting conditions, but it is best viewed in dim or indirect light, which allows the gold foil to accentuate the figure and shapes.
