Dead milk #3

This is a work about generational trauma. There are many tragic events in history that were passed down as traumatic experiences to succeeding generations. As a symbol, I chose a woman breastfeeding a child. The transfer of traumatic experience through feeding, the formation of a new person, here we are talking not only about the physiological process, but also about the mental one. The woman's body is abstract, in places bodily, in places charred or in the ground. The silhouette of the mother is the silhouette of Venus of the Paleolithic, the interpretation of which is the Mother Goddess, fertility and security. The child is made in a black silhouette, it is rather a scorched wound on the mother's body. Materials: paper made in Italy, 50% cotton content, graphite, ink, acrylic, watercolor, varnish. The colors in the photo may differ slightly from the original, depending on the computer screen. The picture is textured, strokes are visible, in different parts of the picture there are different coatings and different materials, therefore the varnish and different parts of the picture look different. The surface of the painting is glossy.
