Description of the Artwork “Mavka and White Wolf”
The mysticism of the image of forest spirits has always inspired me. This picture is dedicated to Ukrainian folklore. Mávka (Ukrainian: Ма́вка) is an image of the female spirit in Ukrainian folklore and mythology. This is a long-haired figure, sometimes naked, who can be dangerous for young men. In my painting, Mavka is combined with a wolf as a romantic image to emphasize the magical charm of nature.
