Description of the Artwork “LA GATA NEGRA”

Automatic translation

The Contrast between Nature and the Interior: The Van Gogh-style depiction of trees in the background, combined with the dark blue sky, could symbolize the beauty and complexity of nature. On the other hand, the central action with the cat and the woman could represent the inner torments of the human soul.

About the artist
José GARCIA

José GARCIA, France

José GARCIA, was born in 1959 in Madrid where he lived until 1962 before destiny led him to emigrate to France. Bedridden for nearly 3 years for health reasons in a rehabilitation center, his keen sense of observation developed, allowing him to take a particular and original look at the surrounding world and the scenes that presented themselves to him. Installed with his family in Paris in the dynamic 11th arrondissement, he played hooky from school at the age of 10, and to satisfy his thirst for discovery artistic, with a single metro ticket, without everyone knowing, set off to conquer the most beautiful museums in the capital. This is how from his early youth, José immersed himself with a passion unwavering in artistic creation, expressing his talent through drawing and painting. Freedom has finally opened its doors to him! A few years later, his collaboration with his mentor the renowned painter Juan ALCALDE in the workshops at Arts et Métiers and the Place du Tertre profoundly influenced his direction by laying the foundations of his pictorial career. The artist is inspired by masters such as Picasso for shapes, Matisse for the colors, and Modigliani for his portraits among others. He draws his subjects from transport, cafes, wherever life breathes and always with great spontaneity. To deepen his know-how, he took courses in various schools, notably the Earth and Fire Workshops, which were very valuable for his professional development. A jack of all trades, he also distinguished himself in music as a songwriter. It is with joy that he offers you here some of his works, the variety of styles of which you will be able to appreciate. Stéphanie Boudet.
