This painting was painted in oil on canvas in 2024. Artist Serhii Khlyupin used high-quality oil paints to create deep and saturated colors. The painting is part of a series dedicated to the history of Ukraine and the Cossack theme. It conveys the dynamics and heroic spirit of the Zaporozhians rushing through the steppe, depicting every detail with care and skill. The work is signed by the artist and has a certificate of authenticity.
With the outbreak of war, the hobby became a necessity and a cure for despair and anxiety. One day in March, an enemy shell from "Gradu" flew into the room where I lived, a meter away from me, which destroyed the apartment and injured me. Thank God, there was no fire, everyone remained alive and the drawings were preserved. Then, like most of our compatriots, we had to move to Lviv. In Lviv, he decided to master a new direction - oil paintings. Here he opened a new page of creativity: landscapes, still lifes. In December 2022, he returned to his hometown. Although Kharkov is shelled, life continues. Although most art galleries are closed because of the war, in April 2023 my first solo exhibition of my paintings took place at the Kharkiv Opera Theater in the Lilac gallery. Then two more exhibitions of my paintings were successfully held. I am already preparing the fourth exhibition.
