In this captivating work, Marcelo Fidélis explores the depth of human emotions through the use of masks as symbols. Using vibrant tones and varied techniques, the artist creates a powerful contrast between light and dark, reflecting the complexity of tragedy and perseverance. Primitive and naive elements evoke a connection to the roots of humanity, while collage adds a tactile dimension, making the work visually dynamic. This painting is not just a personal expression, but a mirror of the collective human experience, rich in symbolism and raw emotions.
Born in Barbacena- MG, Marcelo Fidélis is a self-taught artist. His relationship with art dates back to when he was a child and trained as a cook. He currently develops work using experimental techniques linked to sculpture, painting, cooking and skateboarding. His work revolves around the simple representation of the human face, establishing different variations through materials, textures, colors and expressions, towards a sculptural process of the surface, valuing manual work. His work is an invitation to a natural, pure and instinctive experience, combined with the primitive and the strength of the face as a means of encounter, presence and expression.
