This evocative representation, crafted in 2024 by Sonny Andersson, serves as a modern homage to Georges de la Tour's ‘Magdalene with the Smoking Flame’. Using water-mixable oils on linen canvas, Andersson recapitulates the iconic blend of sacred and secular, infusing the historic with contemporary allure. Merging realism with a hint of the artist's personal interpretation, this piece invites viewers into a nuanced dialogue with the past.
I was born and raised in Grimsås Tranemo municipality but since 2020 I live in Helsingborg Sweden Since I retired as an accountant in 2019, I can now devote myself to my painting. I now work mostly on commissioned paintings from digital photographs and passionately strive to create realistic paintings that only come from constantly improving my craft through continuous training and study. As a portrait painter, I use a traditional oil painting technique layer upon layer wet on wet that captures the feeling of joy in the oil painting process. What you get is a portrait created in the same way as portraits you would find in a museum and thus has lasting value. Is approved for F tax and VAT registered If you have an image that you would like to turn into a piece of art, please send me a message, I will be happy to explore the possibilities of creating something that I know you would really appreciate.
