While studying in college, I often tried to depict subjects made by great artists using the Russian avant-garde technique of the 1920s. Almost all of these works were sold during the Perestroika period. However, recently my mother called me and said that she found my school sketch in Gustav Klimt’s album and asked: “Throw it away?” I said: “No way!” After that, I painted this painting based on this sketch. Now I think differently and paint pictures differently, but in memory of that time I still decided to paint this picture.
