Description of the Artwork “Eagle man”

A Canvas with a Legacy: What sets my work apart is the profound connection between my canvas and its past. These stretch ceilings have hosted hundreds, if not thousands, of visitors over the decades. Each footprint, each whisper, and each moment in time is etched into the fabric. When I create a painting on one of these canvases, I feel a deep sense of responsibility to honor the heritage it carries. It is as if the canvas itself guides my hand, telling its own story through my art.

About the artist
Gela Mikava

Gela Mikava, Georgia

Email Address: gelamikava7@gmail.com Gela Mikava is a Georgian artist. He was born in Zugdidi on November 16, 1995, in a family of IDPs from Abkhazia. Gela won his first art competition at the age of 6, when he drew the image of the Coat of Arms of Georgia with chalk. ARTIST STATEMENT Without the ability to actualize an idea or concept, art would not exist. My work is a constant search for the best way to interpret the ideas that I have about myself and the world I live in. I do not limit myself to one medium, style, or concept. Each piece I create is simultaneously an extension from the past, where l've come from and what I've learned, as well as a preview of the future, where I'm going.I like the idea that form doesn't necessarily need function, but I also like the idea that function has to work with form and form has to work with function. At this stage, I am working on two series, "Alienation" and "Bijouteria".
