Koval Dmytro Vadymovich was born on 23 October 1990 in Khotyn. In 1998, he entered Khotyn City Art School. From 2002 to 2007, he attended TG Shevchenko Republican High School in Kyiv. In 2007-2008, the artist held his first two personal exhibitions at the “Mytets” gallery. In 2009, he joined the NAFAA (National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture), specializing – pictorial art (teachers V. Barinova-Kuleba, I. Kovtoniuk, and V. Vyrodova-Gotye). From 2012 to 2016, he trained in the creative painting studio of the easel teacher, academician, and artist from Ukraine, V. I. Gurin. In 2016, he graduated from NAFAA with honors, received a recommendation for an assistant position, and was nominated for the ASU Gold Medal. Dmytro Koval has been a member of the Ukrainian National Artists Association since 2017. He regularly takes part in exhibitions in Ukraine and around the world. His works are successfully displayed in exhibitions and auctions in Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Germany, France, Canada, China, etc. He is a participant of many All-Ukrainian and international Plein airs. The name of Dmytro Koval is widely known among connoisseurs of fine art painters. He is a representative of the Kyiv School of Painting. The artist works both in oil painting, making impeccably precise and elaborate compositions, and in other painting techniques. He also works in monumental and religious art. In 2016, he was involved in the painting of the branch of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in Kyiv. The result of such initiative is a series of works, each of which is unique and unmistakable, saturated with the atmosphere of the spiritual vision of the world. In Kyiv's contemporary painting, he embodies mature style, brevity, and perfect technique. Dmytro Koval harmoniously complements the technique of painting by using both traditional and modern materials. He is the author of extensive series of paintings and cycles: “Love” (2012), “Earth” (2013-2014), “Ukrainian Prayer” (2015-2016), “Love Mystification” (2017-2018), “The mysterious Ukraine. An outline of History and Modernity” (2019), “Requiem” (2019-2020). His works are distinguished by the originality of their design, high spirituality, emotional intensity, deep power of sentiments, and an extremely professional pictorial level of art.
