The hyperrealistic drawing "my faithful friend" presents a pocket watch where the internal mechanism is precisely exposed. Every cog, every spring and every screw is depicted with reality-defying acuity, offering a fascinating insight into the complexity and delicacy of watchmaking. The watch, suspended in time and space, reflects the light in such a way as to highlight the shine of its metallic components and the depth of the shadows that lie between them. The glass, transparent to perfection, barely seems to be there, inviting the eye to delve into the beating heart of the object. This drawing doesn't just capture the image of a watch; it celebrates the craft and art of measuring time. Sandrine Piegay, with her mastery of the graphite pencil, offers more than a simple representation; it offers a visual meditation on the fleeting passage of hours and minutes, and on the timeless beauty of watchmaking mechanics
