Pierced Parts Series: One in a series of sculpture exploring the darker sophistication of body piercing. Jewelry shown is included and is removable, though I cannot guarantee the fit of other jewelry. The sculpture is set on a stainless steel rod into a Japanese ink-stone base. The ink stone was hand cut from a larger piece, lightly shaped and polished. Ink stone is a type of slate traditionally used for inkwells in calligraphy. It's a lovely stone which catches the light in a complimentary way. Each item is one of a kind. The mold is destroyed during the process and only a single cast is made. *Shipping from Japan included in price. *Items can be made to order with various male / female available.
Robert is a materialistic American artist working in Japan. He seeks to create mood in an object. He is a pre-packaged product of a human being, and is generally unremarkable. Robert’s work is composed primarily of lifecasts which are plaster cast, and painted. Objects are attached to various base materials. Bases are either found objects reworked or bought locally and used. Fusion of organic and inorganic is a recurring theme. Robert has a social phobia, and tends to find both nature and people to be unsettling and threatening. He started this iteration of work as display objects for boutique jewelry and accessories. It has since branched out.
