Cast from an adult male hand. Each item is one of a kind. I destroy the mold during the process and only a single cast is made. This hand was life-cast and posed to hold rings, a locket, necklace, or pocket-watch. After casting, the plaster was cleaned by brush and defects were attended to. Most defects in the casting process add to the personality of each piece and I think are a positive attribute, so I tend lightly to the surface. *Does not include jewelry. *Shipping from Japan is included in the price. *Various male / female available
Robert is a materialistic American artist working in Japan. He seeks to create mood in an object. He is a pre-packaged product of a human being, and is generally unremarkable. Robert’s work is composed primarily of lifecasts which are plaster cast, and painted. Objects are attached to various base materials. Bases are either found objects reworked or bought locally and used. Fusion of organic and inorganic is a recurring theme. Robert has a social phobia, and tends to find both nature and people to be unsettling and threatening. He started this iteration of work as display objects for boutique jewelry and accessories. It has since branched out.
