About the artist Tisha Bratt
I am a self taught artist using the medium of hand-cut paper collage. I repurpose diverse graphic materials, juxtaposing color and image to create new designs and off-beat narratives. Old newspapers, glossy magazines, old books, posters, scientific diagrams, travel magazines, outdated school texts, illustrated children’s books, discarded maps and collected decorative paper scraps. When people see my artwork, they often mistake it for a painting. However, if you get a closer look, you realize that it is a collage made from repurposed paper (mostly junk mail and magazines). Words, phrases, and imagery from the materials that make up the collage become visible upon close observation of the work adding to the meaning of the piece. I hope you enjoy looking at my artwork as much as I enjoy making it. Working from my original design illustration and passion for creating intricate artwork. Wall art is from my original mixed media artwork!
