Gerhard Buckholz

Gerhard Buckholz is a self-taught sculptor artist originating from Linz in Austria, but currently residing in the Greater Kruger National Park, South Africa. ​ The unemployable Buckholz threw in the corporate towel in 2015 and using his unique natural talent for sculpting decided to set up base in the wilds of Africa and to make his passion his life. Surrounded by nature on a daily basis he instinctively sculpts to capture the spirit of the wild African animals he has observed. His technique captures the anatomical correctness, essential movement and the personality of his subjects. Wax clay is his medium of choice, finishing with stylish chrome, hyper-realistic classic bronze and more fun pop art designs.
