David Crabtree

David was born in Ontario Oregon and has been an artist of several mediums for over 30 years. David explored and grew his artistic skills over the years as he owned two portrait studios, two cabinet shops, managed a furniture restoration business, and worked in a silk screening facility. He was instrumental in bringing the craft of Intarsia using exotic woods to the United States and has received numerous awards. David is an inventor, and he uses his talent to devise new ways to express himself through art. He is a self-taught Acrylic Flow artist who uses screen printing and airbrushing to enhance the image. He also used several techniques to provide the painting texture, direction, and mixing of the fluid media. His love is creating fluid acrylic paintings of nature such as the oceans, sunsets and earth phenomenon. David has a home studio in Florence Oregon. He also does commission work. ARTIST STATEMENT My goal is to capture that magical moment when nature’s magnificence unfolds right in front of us. It may be a wave crashing into a lighthouse causing an explosion of sight and sound, the serenity and tranquility of a boat floating on a placid sea, or the brief moment when the sun sets and scatters color across the sky and the sea below. I want the viewer to be in awe of that captured moment so that it touches their heart.
