Transform Wall Art with 5 Tips for Stunning Focal Point Gallery
Do you have a hard time picking just one favorite? Whether it's ice cream flavors, blogs, or Rihanna tweets, it can be overwhelming to narrow down your choices. Fortunately, when it comes to decorating, a gallery wall is the perfect option for those of us who struggle with decisions. The goal of a gallery wall is to showcase your aesthetic with as many pieces as possible!

Wall Art Décor: How to Create the Magic for Your Living Room?

There's no wrong way to create a gallery wall. After all, it's your space and your favorite art pieces. The most important thing is that you love every piece! Gallery walls can be put together in a variety of ways — with different sized frames, color schemes, or themes. That's the beauty of a gallery wall — it's personal and reflects your personality to your guests.

In our 740 sq. ft. home, this wall is definitely the focal point. It's the first thing you see when you walk in, and it's where we spend all of our time. We wanted to create a gallery wall that would speak to me and my guests and showcase my personal style.

Find the Perfect Spot

Choose a wall that is visible when you first enter the room. It's ideal to center the gallery wall above a piece of furniture, such as a sofa, bed, bookshelf, or dining table.

Start with a Showstopper

Select one or two larger prints that capture the attention, and then fill in the gaps with smaller prints later. When browsing Society6 prints, we were immediately drawn to the stunning Brutalized Gainsborough 2 by Chad Wys. This became the centerpiece of my gallery wall, and I made it the largest print to build everything else around.

Achieve Balance

Balance and symmetry are always pleasing to the eye! Once we received my prints, we laid them out on the floor and rearranged them several times until we found the perfect arrangement. Odd-numbered groupings tend to look great, and we made sure to place my largest prints on opposite ends to create an even visual weight distribution.

Frame Your Focal Point

To create a more polished look, "frame" your gallery wall with furniture, plants, or a coat rack, while keeping balance and symmetry in mind. We "framed" my gallery wall with our sofa, fig tree, and hanging pathos plant, which made the focal point even stronger.

Make It Personal

Your gallery wall is something you'll see every day, so choose prints that you love and that hold personal significance, and consider incorporating favorite family photos. The more personal you make it, the more likely you'll enjoy it for years to come.

By the way, you can use prints to create your own wall art gallery. If you are interested in art prints, these articles can be useful for you:
