Description of the Artwork “Self portrait with face mask”
President Armand Fallière, when asked "Why do not you write your memoirs? Replied: "But because I have nothing to hide" ... A self-portrait, like an autobiography, is in a way a mask of beauty: it veils or disguises as much as it reveals. I also wanted to play on the polarity between the meaning of the word beautiful and the meaning of the image that is ugly. The viewer, the reader to discover what beyond the artifice of representation, this mask is authentic and sincere.
