Translated from Spanish - Clown Bird. They were named that way for their funny gait in the mating dance. Gannets are oceanic birds. Hunting for fish, they soar high up and, like an arrow, plunge into the ocean waters at a speed of 140 km/h. These birds amazed me with the comical nature of their movements, monumental forms and the extraordinary color of their huge paws, which I took as a basis. I have always been interested in the art of the peoples of the world: ceramic pots, sculpture, toys, whistles and the ornaments that decorate them. The decorative painting of the series of sculptures of the Gannet Bird is associated specifically with folk ornaments. The plumage design of this sculpture refers to Sumerian paintings on clay objects. The ceramic sculpture is made of clay using engobes, glazes and metal oxides using mold casting, followed by finishing using hand sculpting and painting techniques. There are two sculptures available (see photo). Sold individually, price is for one sculpture

She is interested in ancient and archaic images and sculpture, stone prints and cave paintings. The sculptor is inspired by the forms and ornaments of the arts of different peoples of the world, because it has been honed over the centuries to the harmony and laconicism of forms transformed into a symbol. In her work, Elena Gambaryan seeks the relationship between nature and man and the answer to the question of how a person can establish peace and harmony in himself and be filled with this state from nature. Her creativity is only on the bright side of life. The artist is interested in achieving a feeling of fullness and inner content of the form. She conducts this search in works on various topics.
