«Incantation for Blessing Water» from a series of works «Cucuteni-Trypillia culture» Cosmogony-religious views of Trypillia сulture (also known as Cucuteni culture, 7500 - 2500 BC) are shown in the ornament of household and ritual dishes depicting heavenly bodies, plants, animals and people. Particular attention is paid to the theme of rain. Partly the theme of rain included the cult of the snake, which was guards of good and house. Trypillia сulture represent one of the most amazing historical mysteries, invariably causing excitement and unrestrained curiosity among today’s viewers.
Alexey Samoylenko is a Ukrainian photographer, who is winner of many photo contest, both in all-Ukrainian and international. Along with this, photographic works were repeatedly exhibited in the galleries of Europe and stored in private collections in Ukraine, Germany and England. A. Samoylenko is a bright representative of the classical Kharkiv photography and an active cultural figure of the city in the field of the Kharkiv photography. For a long time A. Samoylenko is working on a photo project dedicated to the History of Ukraine. A series of art photographs introduces the viewer to the peculiarities of the development of Ukrainian culture, religion and life in a period spanning over fifty thousand years. The time interval shown on them dates back to the 40th millennium BC and ends with the Middle Ages. Skillfully executed works allow one to become an eyewitness to the events that were attended by our ancestors, to touch their beliefs, to feel the original atmosphere, intertwining the spirit of ancient legends and harsh reality.
