Description of the Artwork “Ukraine”
Still life reflects the inner strength of OUR country. The plant world of the painting hints at this. Ruby berries of viburnum, according to popular belief, have long symbolized patriotic feelings, courage and independence of the spirit of the people who shed blood for the Motherland in the fight against enemies for freedom, independence of the native land. Also complementing the composition were cornflowers, which symbolize purity of mind. But the subtropical deciduous fig plant, as well as the shape of the bouquet, reflected the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
