Pochaiv icon of the Virgin, size 24x30 cm. I write icons in the traditional canonical style, on a cluttered board using the egg tempera technique. In the background you can see incredibly beautiful patterns - this is coinage made by masters from Pochaev. In 1240, two monks settled on the site of the nearby Pochaiv Lavra. One of them, having prayed, went to the top of the mountain and saw a vision: the Most Pure Virgin was standing on a stone in flames. He called another monk to see this miracle. Also, the shepherd Ioann Bosiy, who was tending sheep at that moment, had the privilege of witnessing the phenomenon. On that stone remained the trace of the Mother of God, from which holy water appears to this day. Later, the Dormition Cathedral was built on this site. That is why the Pochaiv icon depicts a mountain with the foot of the Mother of God. This icon is not only very beautiful, but will also help you in your spiritual development and focus on prayer.
The artist Anastasia Bovchalyuk was born in Ukraine on November 9, 1998, in an Orthodox family with many children. Caring parents tried to discover talents in their children, so from early childhood, Anastasia was engaged in dancing, playing the piano, singing, but this did not bring joy and satisfaction to the girl. Her parents noticed her talent for drawing and at the age of 10 sent her to study at an art school. The three-hour class at the art school flew by quickly and imperceptibly, and Anastasia could not wait for the next class. She was no longer interested in anything except artistic art. Since then, she has not parted with brushes and paints for 12 years, constantly learning and developing. It develops not only in creativity, but also spiritually. After graduating from an art school in Lviv, being an Orthodox Christian, Anastasia decides to study as an icon painter. To serve God through your creativity, show your love and always be next to Him in prayer. So Anastasia entered an icon painting school in Poland and studied to become an icon painter for 3.5 years. Now the artist lives in Warsaw, paints icons in the ancient technique in compliance with all canons, paints realistic portraits with oil paints, nature and animals, creates abstract paintings, conducts master classes and maintains social networks about her life and work.
