In this captivating oil painting, Vrendin unfolds a rich visual narrative about shame and its duality in our lives. By portraying a model wearing a mask of fashion and shame, he explores how clothing, makeup and appearance can act as both a protection and a source of insecurity. The choice of models and the careful depiction of their facial features, eyes and lips emphasize inner conflict and the need for recognition, while also asking the deeper question: are we truly free from shame or is it an inescapable part of our being? Through each brushstroke, Vrendin challenges us to question our own relationship to shame, disguise and the search for authentic expression.
