This piece is dedicated to my personal search for self and the sense that I, and the attributes that define me, "do not fit" into the surrounding world. The blackness of the girl's skin symbolizes my feelings of isolation and obscurity. The metal shell next to her is a reminder of the coldness of reality, while the red shells floating in the air represent the desire for freedom from this reality. Through this painting, I explore my internal conflict and attempt to resolve it through spiritual fulfillment and emotional enrichment in every sense. It is a story about seeking harmony within oneself, regardless of external dissonances.
