Everyone heard the tale of Hansel and Gretel as a child, but few have heard of Katarina Schraderin. Katarina Schraderin - the prototype of the same witch, who, according to a fairy tale, wanted to eat those lovely children. But in the real story, the witch was the baker Katarina Schraderin, she made the most delicious gingerbread in the whole area and Hansel, who in reality was called Hans Metzler, wanted to get the recipes for these gingerbread. This story happened at a time when girls were called witches and were willingly burned just because they were beautiful. I wanted to portray this witch from a fairy tale as a charming baker in lace underwear with a chocolate book, in a world of gingerbread, lollipops, donuts and sweets. The picture was painted in 2021 “Before Hansel and Gretel” from a series of paintings oil "Dessert Girls" DETAILS: * Name: “Before Hansel and Gretel” * Painter: Tetiana Bogdanova * Size: 27.5*19.6*1 inch (70*50*2 cm) * Oil painting on canvas * Shipping: Canva
