This piece is part of the Umbral collection, which explores states of post-life consciousness where we are confronted by our inner monsters. Once we leave the physical body, our fears, anxieties, anguish, guilt, and unresolved issues have nowhere left to hide, emerging fully exposed, like a skull without skin. The portraits in this collection tell these stories, inviting the viewer to confront their own demons. "Hope" reminds us that the journey to overcome difficulties is illuminated both by hope and by the collective effort to nurture deep relationships and promote the peaceful resolution of conflicts. In numerology, the number 6 symbolizes family ties and the power of interpersonal connections. The golden circle symbolizes the strength of human connections, which together have the potential to illuminate the darkness and inspire transformation. “Hope” invites us to reflect on how our deepest relationships and bonds have the power to illuminate our individual paths.
My name is Roberto and I am a visual artist. Otrebor has always been present within me, since the first days I perceived the world around me. He is the manifestation of that side that matured too soon, that observed reality with a different, deeper and, at times, darker look. Since I was a child, I have been drawn to horror films, to images that others would avoid. The B side of life, the shadows that go unnoticed, have always instilled something in me, like a silent call to explore what hides beyond the surface. My journey as an artist is not just an aesthetic quest, but an ongoing dive into the unresolved emotions and invisible landscapes of the psyche. Through Otrebor, I invite the viewer to face discomfort, embrace the complexity of existence, and find beauty where most see only darkness. Each work is a portal to this introspection — a chance to reveal the B side within us all. Otrebor's art is a reflection of this hidden side. Every brushstroke, every composition is an expression of this duality—the beauty found in darkness, the truth revealed in the deepest corners of the human soul. Through my art, I seek to confront and explore the unknown, the unspoken, what many prefer not to see. Otrebor is the mirror of an internal universe, where shadows are not feared, but accepted as an integral part of the human experience.
