Description of the Artwork “Dive with me”
Through my art I express my infinite admiration for the diversity of colors, forms, textures of the natural world. That’s something I want to share with everyone who is ready to see it. I profoundly enjoy perceiving and contemplating ordinary and unusual behavior of all animals. I entirely dedicate each moment of my time to integrate myself into that space. It is a very meditative process as I get lost in reliving the experience and watch it come to life on canvas. Every single brush stroke is an expression of my passion and love. I create powerful visualizations of the beauty of the ocean but also exhibit the devastating effects of human impact. Coral reefs are living and complex organisms, the heart of an immense habitat of marine species. Without this pillar a major part of sea life can become close to extinction, which will ultimately affect all of us as well. Isaac Opoku Badu, Ghana
Isaac Opoku Badu is an African artist born and raised in Ghana. He started drawing and painting at a very tender age through his parents who regarded art very highly. He was educated at the A.M.E. Zion primary and junior high school , Kumasi. He also studied at the college of art and industry, Kumasi and specialized in painting, while he was in school, he won several prizes in painting competitions. He paints mainly in oils and acrylic on canvas. Paintings are usually characterized by rich colors, textures, lines and planes which tend to suggest movement in the images in the pictures. His style creates certain impressions in the mind of the observer. The themes of Isaac's works are often to do with people, animals and places, such as interaction between people in a group, townscapes, market scenes, animals and dwellings. However, he was mainly interested in animals, especially wildlife and birds . He says, what excites me about wildlife and birds is their courageous attitude, the way they care for their young ones, their facial expression and the movement of their bodies and hands when they are hunting is very pleasing to him. His scenes also portray the social, political and economic life of the people. the way that flowers and plants grow and how we are a big part of it, Isaac's is a nationally recognized artist who creates exceptional likeness. His works are treasured by many and can also be found in some of the galleries in Ghana. He has sold many paintings in private and exhibitions, within and outside Ghana.
