Mercedes Gordo takes us on a journey through the 'Blue Cliff', a visceral portrait of the marine winter. This work captures the beauty and rawness of the ocean in winter, where the waves crash relentlessly against the rocks, wrapped in the blanket of snow and ice. The textures, created with skill, not only represent the roughness of the rocks but also the wild movement of the water, creating a contrast between the coldness of the blue and the purity of the white. This abstract seascape envelops us in the sensation of cold and the majesty of the sea, transforming the fury of the ocean into a spectacle of serenity and power.
Painting is my form of communication that allows me to isolate myself from reality in a positive way. Through painting I can express emotions and feelings that are not so easy for me to communicate in any other way. Painting a picture gives me the opportunity to bring out a large part of my most sensitive interior and show my own vision of the world.
