This exquisite piece of contemporary landscape art highlights the subtle strength and peace with a hopeful horizon looming in the distance, portrayed through a harmonious blend of blue and yellow splashes against black mountains. Skillfully hand-painted on rice paper and flawlessly mounted on silk, the artwork incorporates a distinctive red Chinese stamp, which is a symbol of authenticity and the past. The artwork, while rooted in traditional Chinese painting techniques, sails into contemporary realms, evoking a deep sense of peace and a hopeful anticipation for the future, as if watching the old world pass away from the untouched and pristine slopes of a new dawn.
Having been engaged in the fight against fraud and corruption in my country since a very young age, I discovered that meaningful life is about appreciating (and understanding) the past in order to live in the present while embracing the future. Thus, I have been attracted to incorporate the contemporary world’s culture into the old static traditional Chinese art techniques, in order to convey some futuristic messages of love and courage. Brave usage of some mixture of contrasting colours can be seen throughout the collection of my paintings to communicate various emotions and induce diverse creative interpretations. Indeed, as I remain dedicated to using the traditional old Chinese painting techniques on rice paper and seal my paintings with a Chinese stamp, I opt using colours as the main language to convey hidden messages in my paintings to reflect the ever-changing mix of society’s forces in the contemporary world. The hidden messages, however, revolve around the futuristic majestic Hope of absolute Love and invincible Faith amidst the present moment’s rough turbulency. I personally believe that great artworks are those that can spark a connection between the artist and the audience – the audience are empowered to see through the eyes of the artist. Therefore, my main aim in being an artist is to kindle a meaningful inspiration: to inspire others to be thankful for the past and mindful of every precious second of the present moment while keeping one’s hopeful eyes on the invisible future.
