Mercedes Gordo invites us to delve into 'The Blue Forest', a work that reflects the transition from winter to spring and the soft collision of time in the landscape. The blue light that permeates every corner of the forest symbolizes an awakening, the thawing of snow and the breath of fresh water flowing between the trees. The combination of techniques gives the canvas a unique depth, where each brushstroke of blue is a whisper that comforts us with its cold beauty.
Art has always been my calling. I believe there is something deeply transformative in creating, in shaping matter and turning it into a personal and magical space, channeling a unique sensitivity to observe and interpret the world. Painting is my language; a way to communicate and, at the same time, positively isolate myself from everyday reality. Through each brushstroke, I find a way to express emotions and feelings that I could hardly communicate otherwise. Painting allows me to reveal the most sensitive facet of my being and share my own vision of the world. Thus, my works seek to convey not only emotions, but also messages and reflections on our existence, social challenges and life itself. My artistic career began in realism, focused on landscapes and still lifes. Over time, I have explored more contemporary techniques and styles, creating a fusion between the classic and the modern. In each work, my goal is for the design, color and texture to awaken deep emotions in the viewer and open a space for reflection.
