This expressive landscape painting by Marion Kotyba masterfully captures the overwhelming beauty of mountains and clouds rising beneath a majestic sky. The confronting patterns of the clouds and mountains create a sense of infinity, while the intensity of the colors reflect spring and summer in an unforgettable geology portrait. This painting brings us closer to the earth and yet beyond it, projecting travel, discovery and the endless dance of the elements into our imagination.
Marion Kotyba was born on August 16, 1968 in Kulmbach. Artistic training through lecturers and art symposiums. She has had her own studio since 2008 and is also intensively active in child and adult education in the field of art. Freelance artist since 2010. Owner of the ART GALLERY & Studio at Oberhacken 3, Kulmbach since November 2017. The most prominent feature in Marion Kotyba's art is the theme of 'rust and aging' as a stylistic device in abstract acrylic painting. In this context, the artist interprets the interplay of color, light, structures and technical implementation in an artistically impressive power of interpretation that is both new and exciting at the same time. In recent times, observations of the effects of the weather in nature - rusted surfaces, broken structures, glazes and the combination of these - have played an important role. The artist works out her concerns in clearly defined groups of works, primarily in a non-objective manner, in order to offer the viewer of her works enough freedom to let their imagination run wild on an abstract level. The versatile and experimental artist takes the liberty of choosing style, color and technique according to her mood.
