Rainbow clouds are a rare optical phenomenon in which very thin cloud masses located opposite the rays of the Sun are painted in spectral colors. The effect of iridescence (iridescence) appears due to the diffraction of light on drops of supercooled water or ice crystals. These “rainbow” clouds are observed mainly in proximity to the Sun (if you look at them from the ground) and only at the moment when the clouds are just forming. Most often, this phenomenon can be observed in altocumulus lenticular clouds, characteristic of mountainous areas. The air in the mountains is cleaner, practically free of impurities, making it much more difficult for water droplets to turn into crystals. It is likely that somewhere in the circumpolar regions this colorful phenomenon may be so powerful that it takes on a partially conscious form. In other words, such “rainbow” clouds turn into visible containers for the elemental spirits of Air.
In my work, I reflect on the multidimensionality of space, the nature of light and sound, and explore the mysteries of the universe and unusual phenomena. I've always been fascinated by the unknown; that which lies beyond the perception of three-dimensional reality. The images in my paintings are filled with an atmosphere of mystery and numinity. Coming up with each of the compositions, I come into contact with the otherworldly, trying to lift the veil of secrets in order to get closer to the Source. I like to experiment with different materials and techniques. I create my works in such mediums as painting, graphics, audio-visual performance, installation.
