In this painting, Mercedes Gordo transports us to a cliff illuminated by the brilliant sunset. Rich textures and masterful use of palette bring to life a hypnotic spectacle of light and color. The warm tones of the sky and the golden reflection in the water create an atmosphere of serenity and wonder. The rocks of the cliff emerge as solemn monuments, framing the scene and offering a robust contrast to the immensity of the Pacific Ocean. This work not only captures a moment, but also the essence of natural beauty and the eternal journey of the sun.
Art has always been my calling. I believe there is something deeply transformative in creating, in shaping matter and turning it into a personal and magical space, channeling a unique sensitivity to observe and interpret the world. Painting is my language; a way to communicate and, at the same time, positively isolate myself from everyday reality. Through each brushstroke, I find a way to express emotions and feelings that I could hardly communicate otherwise. Painting allows me to reveal the most sensitive facet of my being and share my own vision of the world. Thus, my works seek to convey not only emotions, but also messages and reflections on our existence, social challenges and life itself. My artistic career began in realism, focused on landscapes and still lifes. Over time, I have explored more contemporary techniques and styles, creating a fusion between the classic and the modern. In each work, my goal is for the design, color and texture to awaken deep emotions in the viewer and open a space for reflection.
