Mercedes Gordo invites us to immerse ourselves in 'Primavera en el Lago', a work that captures the fleeting essence of spring with unsurpassed emotional and technical skill. The attention to detail in the texture of the foliage and the softness of the forest's reflection in the water convey a sense of peace and rebirth. The use of light and color emphasizes the vibrant energy of the season, evoking the calm and beauty of the natural environment. This figurative landscape not only represents spring but also symbolizes hope and the cycle of life, inviting us to reflect on our own connection with nature.
Art has always been my calling. I believe there is something deeply transformative in creating, in shaping matter and turning it into a personal and magical space, channeling a unique sensitivity to observe and interpret the world. Painting is my language; a way to communicate and, at the same time, positively isolate myself from everyday reality. Through each brushstroke, I find a way to express emotions and feelings that I could hardly communicate otherwise. Painting allows me to reveal the most sensitive facet of my being and share my own vision of the world. Thus, my works seek to convey not only emotions, but also messages and reflections on our existence, social challenges and life itself. My artistic career began in realism, focused on landscapes and still lifes. Over time, I have explored more contemporary techniques and styles, creating a fusion between the classic and the modern. In each work, my goal is for the design, color and texture to awaken deep emotions in the viewer and open a space for reflection.
