Oil on textured paper CANSON 32x23 cms 2018 Irving Place Theatre, Manhattan 1930s with a vintage car in the foreground. It is part of a series painted for the illustration of a new book dedicated to Lorca in New York. To create these works, the artist searched for images in the photography library of New York in the 1930s, a time when the poet was residing in the city. For the final composition, he also searched for automobiles from the period and in each of the works placed a vehicle in the foreground. García Lorca left Spain in 1929 to give lectures in Cuba and New York. Tomás Castaño was born in Santander (Spain) in 1953. Internationally recognized artist, Self-taught, he has forged himself through determination and enthusiasm, opting for a realistic pictorial style, to which addresses by capturing constructed and well-drawn compositions. , worrying about composition and drawing, controls perspective and also the faculties that have led him to achieve a condition of landscaper characterized by his architectural work. In 2015 it was selected to exhibit at the most important Asia-Pacific event ART REVOLUTION TAIPEI 2016 (Taiwan). Has been selected as a finalist in the Art Revolution Taipei Competition 2017, 2018 and 2019, obtaining the Gallery award in the last edition. In 2022 it will be in this important fair.
