‘Majestic Mountains’ by Mercedes Gordo is an ode to the grandeur of the natural landscape, where snow-capped peaks meet endless blue skies and dense forests hug the banks of meandering rivers. Through cold tones of blue, white and touches of green, Gordo captures the scene of a corner of the world where time seems to stop, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a space of reflection and connection with nature. The balanced composition and impressionistic technique allow each element - from the floating clouds to the crystal clear water - to contribute to a harmonious and profound visual experience.
Art has always been my calling. I believe there is something deeply transformative in creating, in shaping matter and turning it into a personal and magical space, channeling a unique sensitivity to observe and interpret the world. Painting is my language; a way to communicate and, at the same time, positively isolate myself from everyday reality. Through each brushstroke, I find a way to express emotions and feelings that I could hardly communicate otherwise. Painting allows me to reveal the most sensitive facet of my being and share my own vision of the world. Thus, my works seek to convey not only emotions, but also messages and reflections on our existence, social challenges and life itself. My artistic career began in realism, focused on landscapes and still lifes. Over time, I have explored more contemporary techniques and styles, creating a fusion between the classic and the modern. In each work, my goal is for the design, color and texture to awaken deep emotions in the viewer and open a space for reflection.
