In this representation of a summer landscape, Mercedes Gordo captures the ephemeral beauty of the reflections where mountains and forest merge with the still waters of a lake. Figurative art here acquires an almost poetic dimension, inviting us to lose our gaze in the details of the forest and the limpid reflected sky. Each brushstroke reflects an intimate understanding of nature, a celebration of its colors and shapes that resonate with our longing for travel and discovery. This landscape is a tribute to scenic beauty and a reminder of the tranquility provided by those places where water and sky come together in perfect harmony.
Art has always been my calling. I believe there is something deeply transformative in creating, in shaping matter and turning it into a personal and magical space, channeling a unique sensitivity to observe and interpret the world. Painting is my language; a way to communicate and, at the same time, positively isolate myself from everyday reality. Through each brushstroke, I find a way to express emotions and feelings that I could hardly communicate otherwise. Painting allows me to reveal the most sensitive facet of my being and share my own vision of the world. Thus, my works seek to convey not only emotions, but also messages and reflections on our existence, social challenges and life itself. My artistic career began in realism, focused on landscapes and still lifes. Over time, I have explored more contemporary techniques and styles, creating a fusion between the classic and the modern. In each work, my goal is for the design, color and texture to awaken deep emotions in the viewer and open a space for reflection.
