He was born in Lisbon, in 1956. Painting, which appeared in his life under the influence of his grandfather, Master Rosa-Mendes, only gained a prominent place in his activities when, at the age of 30, he decided to install one of the divisions of His home is a small studio where he begins to explore the potential of the oils and spatulas he inherited. A journalist by profession, Luís Rosa-Mendes was a collaborator in several media organizations. During his career in the Fine Arts, which he began professionally in 1990, he participated in dozens of painting collectives, including: "In Periculum", in 1995, and, in the same year, the “V Exhibition of Fine and Craft Arts”; in 1996, “Quatro Jornalistas, Uma Exhibition”, at the Pothoff gallery, with whom he began to work regularly and, in 1997, “Dar-te, As cores da Emoção”, which was followed by the launch of the association of visual artists, “Desnud 'art", at Lagar de Azeite, in Oeiras. In Sintra, he exhibited individually "A Mar", in 1998, the year in which he exhibited "De Alma e Coração" in Lisbon. In 2007, he returned to exhibitions with "Riscos", a solo show of great breath. Since 2008, he has dedicated himself exclusively to Painting, in his studio in Carcavelos. He is represented in dozens of private collections in Portugal and abroad and in the Municipal Councils of Sintra and Oeiras. He is mentioned in the art book “Portuguese Painters of the Century .XX”.
