Paulo Baptista's 'Deep Ocean' is a canvas where colour becomes the language of emotion, inviting the viewer to dive into the depths of a water world. In this abstract landscape, hues of blue dance between solidity and liquidity, evoking the fleeting patterns of waves. The painting's surface is a tranquil study in texture, embodying the serene yet powerful essence of water both as a life force and a sculptural medium.
I am a Portuguese artist with artworks present in private collections in different countries around the world. Originally, I was mainly devoted to photography. As photographer, my main themes are landscapes and urban environments. The love for painting was always present in my life. In more recent years, I begun to devote time to painting. As self-taught artist I went to a progressive learning process, exploiting different techniques. During the last 4 years, I started to paint in a more consistent and permanent way. Colour is a key element in my artworks, in the exploration of their balances and contrasts and the ambiences created by them. The paramount importance of the titles of the abstract artworks is the verbal signifier that creates a fusional link with the works, their visual meaning and the imagination of the viewer.
