Mercedes Gordo brings to life a vibrant and ethereal night scene with 'Aurora Polar: Reflections and Colors'. The color palette used evokes dancing Nordic lights, reflecting on the calm surface of a lake, while the dark silhouette of the forest adds depth and mystery. The masterfully balanced composition captures the awe and calming beauty of nature, inciting reflection on the dynamic interplay between light and dark, water and sky, tranquility and movement. This work not only represents a faithful capture of the landscape, but also a tribute to the emotional and transformative power of natural light in the immensity of nature.
Art has always been my calling. I believe there is something deeply transformative in creating, in shaping matter and turning it into a personal and magical space, channeling a unique sensitivity to observe and interpret the world. Painting is my language; a way to communicate and, at the same time, positively isolate myself from everyday reality. Through each brushstroke, I find a way to express emotions and feelings that I could hardly communicate otherwise. Painting allows me to reveal the most sensitive facet of my being and share my own vision of the world. Thus, my works seek to convey not only emotions, but also messages and reflections on our existence, social challenges and life itself. My artistic career began in realism, focused on landscapes and still lifes. Over time, I have explored more contemporary techniques and styles, creating a fusion between the classic and the modern. In each work, my goal is for the design, color and texture to awaken deep emotions in the viewer and open a space for reflection.
