In this captivating painting, Mercedes Gordo takes us to a magical world of lights and reflections. An aurora borealis shines brightly in the sky, illuminating the body of water below. Vibrant colors and meticulously created details achieve a sense of movement and calm. The clouds and the ocean merge in a play of light and shadow, evoking the tranquility and majesty of nature. This painting not only captures the splendor of the landscape, but also the ethereal essence of the Northern Lights, leaving a lasting impression on all who view it.
Art has always been my calling. I believe there is something deeply transformative in creating, in shaping matter and turning it into a personal and magical space, channeling a unique sensitivity to observe and interpret the world. Painting is my language; a way to communicate and, at the same time, positively isolate myself from everyday reality. Through each brushstroke, I find a way to express emotions and feelings that I could hardly communicate otherwise. Painting allows me to reveal the most sensitive facet of my being and share my own vision of the world. Thus, my works seek to convey not only emotions, but also messages and reflections on our existence, social challenges and life itself. My artistic career began in realism, focused on landscapes and still lifes. Over time, I have explored more contemporary techniques and styles, creating a fusion between the classic and the modern. In each work, my goal is for the design, color and texture to awaken deep emotions in the viewer and open a space for reflection.
