This painting, the work of Mercedes Gordo, invites us to lose our gaze in the depths of a summer forest. The chromatic choice of greens is delicately woven together, evoking the fullness of summer and the whisper of the wind among the leaves. The artist captures with her brush the lively spirit of the park, where each tree tells a different story under the blue sky. With light filtering through the foliage, this grove becomes a peaceful refuge, a canvas that celebrates life and its perpetual renewal with the arrival of spring.
Art has always been my calling. I believe there is something deeply transformative in creating, in shaping matter and turning it into a personal and magical space, channeling a unique sensitivity to observe and interpret the world. Painting is my language; a way to communicate and, at the same time, positively isolate myself from everyday reality. Through each brushstroke, I find a way to express emotions and feelings that I could hardly communicate otherwise. Painting allows me to reveal the most sensitive facet of my being and share my own vision of the world. Thus, my works seek to convey not only emotions, but also messages and reflections on our existence, social challenges and life itself. My artistic career began in realism, focused on landscapes and still lifes. Over time, I have explored more contemporary techniques and styles, creating a fusion between the classic and the modern. In each work, my goal is for the design, color and texture to awaken deep emotions in the viewer and open a space for reflection.
